Flight Disaster Movie Shelved Due To Plot Similarities With Missing Malaysian Airlines Flight

Sanctum (2011) director, Alister Grierson has decided to put pre-production of his latest movie ‘Deep Water’ on hold because the plot bares uncomfortable similarities with the story of the missing Malaysian Airlines flight that currently dominates world news.

The film tells the story of a commercial flight which crashes in a remote stretch of ocean while on the way to China. Survivors of the crash face terror beyond reckoning as the plane is starting to sink into a bottomless abyss and soon discover they are surrounded by deadly sharks.

On March 8, Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 disappeared from civilian radar screens a little less than an hour after taking off from Kuala Lumpur for Beijing with 239 people on board. No confirmed sighting of the plane or its remains have been made since.
