Top Gear Gang To Build Bridge Over The River Kwai in New Two Part Special

In the first of a new two-part special, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May meet in Rangoon, the old capital of Burma, where they are set a challenge: they must travel north and build a bridge over the River Kwai in Thailand.

But in order to do that, they must first drive across a country that has been largely closed to Westerners for over 40 years. Furthermore, they must make this trip in three lorries, each bought sight unseen from the internet for a limited budget and, unsurprisingly, not quite as the trio might have hoped or expected.

What follows is an epic journey of beautiful scenery, regular adversity, ongoing malfunction and the constant bickering of three badly dressed buffoons.

The first part of this adventure airs on BBC TWO on Sunday, March 9th at 8pm.
